splits

Split without limits.

Any layout, any depth. Every pane is its own shell: PowerShell, bash, zsh, whatever your machine runs. Splits nest as far as your screen can follow, and every one keeps its own working directory.

pulse

Know what every agent is doing.

Manifold Pulse reads your AI coding agent's state and shows it right on the pane: working, waiting on you, or done. Run five agents side by side and glance instead of babysitting.

workspaces

Your whole setup, one keystroke.

Ctrl+K reopens a workspace exactly as you left it: panes, folders, start commands. Switching projects stops being twenty minutes of terminal archaeology.

The branch lives in the pane header.

Every pane shows its repo at a glance: branch, dirty count, ahead and behind, and refreshes the moment the output goes quiet. One click opens an isolated worktree in a fresh pane, so parallel agents stop stepping on each other's checkout.

Sync that can't read your settings.

An account is optional. Turn on settings sync and your settings, keys and sessions travel in an end-to-end encrypted vault only your devices can open. The server stores a sealed blob it cannot read.

Questions, answered.

Is Manifold free?

Yes. For as long as Manifold is in early access it is free for everyone, with every feature included. No card, no trial clock, no limited number of seats.

Do early users ever pay?

No, never. Everyone who joins during early access keeps Manifold free forever, including every feature we add later. Pricing only ever applies to people who arrive after early access ends. That's our thank-you for testing early.

Why does Windows warn me during install?

Because we haven't paid the certificate authority its yearly ransom yet. Without a code-signing certificate (a few hundred euros a year for a digital sticker that says "trust me"), Windows SmartScreen greets every new app with an "unrecognized app" notice. Choose "More info", then "Run anyway", and you're in. Nothing is actually wrong with the app: at this stage that budget buys features, not paperwork. Every update still arrives over HTTPS and is verified against a sha512 checksum, and yes, code-signing is on the roadmap for when it earns its keep.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows is first-class, with automatic updates. macOS runs as a beta: a DMG for Apple Silicon that you install by hand, and the app tells you in-app when a new version is out instead of updating itself (that needs an Apple developer certificate we haven't bought yet). Linux ships as a .deb for Debian-family systems and an AppImage for everything else; the AppImage updates itself, the .deb tells you when a new version is out. Intel Macs aren't available yet.

How do I create an account?

Inside the app: open the Register tab, enter your email, a username and a password, and a confirmation code lands in your inbox. Type it in, done - you are signed in. The installer itself is a free download for everyone; you just can't sign in without an account.

Where does my data live?

On your machine. An account is optional; if you enable settings sync, everything is end-to-end encrypted and the server stores an opaque blob it cannot read.

Want in?

Early access is free, with no seat limit. Download Manifold, open the Register tab, and we mail you a confirmation code - your account is ready in under a minute. Join now and Manifold stays free for you forever.

🛡️ Heads up: Windows will call it an "unrecognized app." That's just SmartScreen being dramatic because we haven't paid a certificate authority its yearly ransom yet (a few hundred euros for a digital sticker that says "trust me"). Click "More info", then "Run anyway", and you're in. Nothing's wrong with the app: every update is HTTPS and sha512 verified, and signing is on the roadmap for when it earns its keep.
